Meals Fast!
Here
are some ideas for whipping up very fast and healthy meals from the
grocery items that you will keep in stock:
1.
Bean soup with
canned beans, frozen green beans, carrots and onions from the grocery
store salad bar. Add some
whole wheat macaroni and chicken broth.
Eat this with ready-made salad and hot corn tortillas.
2.
Turkey
, chicken, or salmon hot dogs
rolled up in whole-wheat flour tortillas.
Eat this with cut up veggies.
3.
Red potato,
microwave and stuff with chopped turkey breast, part-skim mozzarella
cheese and salad.
4.
Quick cooking
brown rice, cooked with sun-dried tomatoes and topped with Parmesan
cheese. Add some marinated and baked tofu, Canadian or lean turkey
bacon, and frozen, microwave veggies.
5.
Prepared salad
topped with nuts or seeds, skim ricotta or cottage cheese, low fat deli
meats, good quality salad dressing, and served with whole grain bread.
6.
Canned vegetarian
chili with added chopped tofu or meat hot dogs.

7.
Cook some whole
grain or vegetable pasta. Add
steamed frozen veggies and part-skim ricotta or reduced fat cottage
cheese.
